CKO Kickboxing® was originally opened by Joe Andreula in 1997 as Take it To The Max, in Hoboken NJ. After years in the fitness industry, Joe was determined to start a gym that was firmly grounded in a no-nonsense approach to fitness. He wanted to offer people a workout that not only burned fat and toned muscle, but was also fun and mentally stimulating. But most importantly, he had a strong passion to keep members coming back.

The birth of CKO Kickboxing® led to a fitness revolution in Hoboken-- the combination of a results-driven yet motivating workout that is appealing and accessible to people of all ages and fitness levels. The CKO Kickboxing® combination of authentic kickboxing training with intense calorie burning exercises and phenomenal resistance training was a huge hit.

By 2004 CKO Kickboxing® had expanded to include eight locations throughout New Jersey and New York. The original Club KO now runs the largest kickboxing for fitness program in the United States, and has been featured in many national fitness magazines and on NBC’s The Today Show.
