How is your New Year’s Resolution Going?

If getting in shape was one of your New Year’s Resolutions, here are some words of inspiration for those who might need to get it back on track.  Some of you are still holding on strong but some fell off and are finding it hard to jump back into your health and fitness goals.

For those who have stuck with it, something may have clicked after so many tries of wanting to make it happen. What is it that clicks inside? What gets us to that point of not letting anyone or anything get in the way of our success? Could it be the realization that the only one you hurt by not sticking to your plan for good health and fitness is your own body, mind and spirit? Time is passing us by!  You can either move forward by taking the steps to reach your goals or stay where you are and keep repeating the cycle.

For those who are finding it hard to stick with your resolution, ask yourself these questions.  Why would you not want to feel healthy, strong and happy? Why would you not want to take care of the body you were blessed with?  It’s time to jump back on and use every available tool to help you reach your goals. We all have different goals, so finding the right tools is essential. Once you have them, use them and make your goals a reality!

There are many tools available to you at Club-KO.  A great way to get motivated again is by signing up for the 10 week program.  You can also sign up for some personal training sessions with me (Rosie) or any of our other Personal Trainers.  If nothing else, take at least 3 classes a week.

Remember the reasons – whatever they are – why you want a fit and healthy body, and a happier state of mind. Then stop remembering and start sweating! Every day is a new day, every hour is a new hour, and every minute is a new minute :)   I’m sure you get the point. Make it a great day!

If that’s not enough, here some ways I thought might also help keep you on your path to Health, Fitness & Happiness:

    1. Take a picture of yourself as you are now.  Put it up on where you can see it often, e.g. the fridge!
    2. Get another picture of yourself when you were the happiest with your weight. If you were never happy with your weight, get a picture of a body that you would like to work towards, or write down the amount of weight you want to lose.  Put this next to the picture of you as you are now.
    3. Keep track of what you eat during the day.
    4. Make changes that will be lifelong changes for a healthier life. Eat more Fruits & Veggies!
    5. Find workouts that are fun for YOU! If you enjoy it you will stick with it.
    6. Keep track of your workouts, what you achieved and how you felt.  Remember the pictures on the fridge!
    7. Change it up!  Switching your workout patterns and nutrition help you stay focused and not get bored!
    8. Be patient!  Give your body a chance to respond to your efforts and wait a couple of weeks to see the changes.
    9. Smile :)  It will breakdown any sadness you might be feeling inside.
    10. Listen to music that will lift your spirit up and motivate you to move your body.
    11. Finally, like any relationship, put time and love into your goals you will see great results.
